New Residence building and Reconstruction of neighbouring apartment building on Lycabettus Hill

The project concerns a five storey building on Lycabettus Hill. Key parameters that played a significant role in the architectural composition include the gentle adaptation of the building to the site and the utilization of the site's peculiarities such as orientation, slope, shape, and surroundings.

The building is composed of a more compact prism-cube on the upper levels, which is anchored by an articulation expressed by the curved two-story wall at the entrance, intensifying the sense of suspension. The lower zone is porous, with a characteristic transparency from the semi-open entrance to the building's uncovered area.

A primary concern was the exploration of the interaction between building and site, with special emphasis on the proximity of the building to Lycabettus Hill. Thus, the composition attempts, through the minimal impact of the building, the porous shaping of the building΄s volume, the use of secondary metall elements in the façade, and other synthetic gestures, to integrate gently into the site and relate to both the urban landscape and the natural environment of Lycabettus Hill.

Outdoor spaces extend beyond the balconies and the open area on the second floor, extending to the accessible green roof of the building. This contributes to a dynamic and seamless interplay between interior and exterior spaces.
